Who am I contracting with?
DANCEWORLD INDUSTRIA DE CALÇADO LDA, with registered office at R Central de Campos 563, 4430-801 Avintes, Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, VAT and company identification number 506679594, trading online as Ritmo at danceworldshoes.shop.
Commercial registry office and matrícula number: pending confirmation. Share capital: pending confirmation. Both appear in full on the Informação Legal page as soon as they are verified.
How is the contract formed?
Putting items in your bag is not an order. The contract is formed when we send you an order confirmation by email after your payment has been accepted. Until then we may decline an order — for example if an item is out of stock, if the price shown was clearly wrong, or if we cannot deliver to your address.
You complete a delivery details form before payment. Payment is a separate step handled by the store operator and no card details are entered on our own pages.
What currency are prices in, and what about tax?
All prices are in US dollars (USD). There is no currency switcher; what you see is what is charged. Your bank may apply its own conversion if your account is in another currency, and that conversion is between you and your bank.
Portuguese VAT (IVA) at 23% applies to deliveries within Portugal and is included in the displayed price. For other destinations the treatment is shown before payment. Deliveries outside the EU may attract import duty and local tax payable by the recipient on arrival.
What are the rules on discounts and promotions?
Reference prices. Where a previous price is shown struck through, that price is the lowest price we applied to that product in the 30 days before the reduction, as required by the Omnibus rules. If a product has not had a qualifying lower price in that window, no struck-through price is shown at all — which is why you will often see none.
Free shipping threshold. Standard shipping is free on orders over $79 before any discount is applied. The threshold is checked against the order subtotal, not including shipping or tax.
Discount codes. Where a first-order code is offered, it applies once per customer, cannot be combined with another code, and does not apply to a product already reduced. Any code carries its own expiry date, stated where the code is given.
What we do not run. No countdown timers, no “exam season” or “show season” urgency pricing, no artificial scarcity messages, and no loyalty points, store credit or membership tiers of any kind. Every purchase here is a one-off.
Where do you ship, and what is restricted?
We deliver to the 0 countries listed in the checkout country selector: the EU member states shown there, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Singapore. If your country is not in that list, we cannot currently accept your order.
Legal and export restrictions. We do not ship to any country, entity or individual subject to EU, United Nations or United States sanctions or export restrictions, and we do not ship to addresses in territories under a trade embargo applicable to Portugal. We may decline or cancel an order that would breach those rules and will refund it in full.
You are responsible for making sure the goods may lawfully be imported into your country. Where import duty or local tax is due on arrival it is payable by you. If a parcel is refused or abandoned at customs, any cost we incur may be deducted from a refund.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are dispatched within 1–2 business days. Transit is typically 3–6 business days within the EU and 7–14 business days elsewhere. Those are estimates, not guarantees.
Where no delivery date has been agreed, the legal maximum is 30 days from the conclusion of the contract. If we miss that, you may set an additional reasonable period and, if we miss that too, cancel and be refunded in full. Details on the shipping and returns page.
Can I cancel?
Yes. You have 14 days from receiving the goods to withdraw without giving a reason, under Decreto-Lei n.º 24/2014. The Livre Resolução page sets out how, carries the standard withdrawal form, and explains the two situations where a specific item can no longer be returned:
— a suede-soled shoe that has been used on a floor, because the sole takes its wear on the first use;
— a shoe with elastics or ribbons already sewn on, because that is an alteration made to your specification.
Both are flagged on the product page, in the bag, and again at checkout, where confirming the suede condition is a required checkbox.
What if the goods are faulty?
A three-year legal guarantee applies from delivery, with a presumption in your favour during the first two years. The Garantia page explains what counts as a defect, what counts as ordinary wear, and how to claim. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights.
What do you refuse to sell?
This store sells soft-soled dance footwear and related care items only. We do not sell pointe shoes. We do not sell anything presented as preventing injury, as supporting or correcting the foot, or as having a medical, orthopaedic or therapeutic effect. We do not sell outdoor or hard-soled footwear, and we do not sell anything that needs a professional fitting we cannot carry out remotely.
The business does not deal in gambling, adult content, lending or credit, money transmission, cryptocurrency, weapons or ammunition, tobacco, alcohol, pharmaceuticals, regulated medical devices, financial investments, pyrotechnics, or any goods that infringe a third party's intellectual property. We do not use the name, mark or syllabus of any dance institution, examination board or competition, and we do not copy another maker's signature silhouette.
Are there age restrictions?
Orders must be placed by a person aged 18 or over. Many of our customers are parents buying for children, which is fine — the adult places the order and is the contracting party.
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. Where a purchase is for a student between 13 and 17, the order must still be placed by a parent or guardian.
Where do I complain?
Write to support@danceworldshoes.shop first — almost everything is settled that way. If it is not, you may use the Livro de Reclamações Eletrónico, which we answer within 15 working days and forward to the competent authority.
You may also refer the matter to the alternative dispute resolution body competent for our registered seat (entity pending confirmation, see Informação Legal) or to the EU ODR platform. The Portuguese authorities are the DGC and ASAE.
Can these terms change?
We may update them. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it, and the date at the top of this page tells you which that is. Changes are never applied retroactively to a contract already formed.
If a provision of these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest continues to apply. Portuguese law governs; the courts of Portugal have jurisdiction, without depriving you of the protection of mandatory rules of your country of residence.
