What we hold, why, and for how long

We collect what an order needs and nothing beyond it. There is no advertising tracking on this site, no analytics profile of you, and no data sold to anyone.

Last updated 15 August 2026 · Governed by Portuguese law

Who is responsible for my data?

The controller is DANCEWORLD INDUSTRIA DE CALÇADO LDA, R Central de Campos 563, 4430-801 Avintes, Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. For any question about your data or to exercise a right, write to support@danceworldshoes.shop or call +351 227534395.

We have not appointed a data protection officer, as we are not required to. Requests go to the same address as everything else and are handled by the people who run the store.

Do you track me for advertising?

No. There is no advertising pixel, no remarketing tag, no social network embed, and no third-party analytics building a profile of your visit. We do not do behavioural advertising and we do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone for their own marketing.

The cookies page lists exactly what is stored in your browser, which is very little.

Is marketing consent bundled into my order?

No, and it never will be. The checkout has two separate boxes: one you must tick for us to process the order, and one you may leave untouched about marketing emails. Ticking the second is not a condition of buying anything, and untick it later at any time from the link in any email we send.

Who else sees my data?

Only the processors we need in order to run the store, each under a written data processing agreement, each acting only on our instructions:

— our hosting and content delivery provider, which serves this site;
— our email provider, which sends order confirmations and replies;
— the carrier delivering your parcel, which receives your name, address and phone number;
— our accountants and, where legally required, the tax authority;
— the payment provider configured by the store operator, which handles the payment step. Card details are entered with that provider and are never seen by, transmitted to, or stored on this site.

Where a processor is outside the European Economic Area, the transfer relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

What about children?

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. Orders must be placed by an adult aged 18 or over, which the checkout requires you to confirm.

Many of our customers buy for children and students. In those cases the data we hold is the adult's — name, address, contact — plus a shoe size. We have no field anywhere on this site for a child's name, age or contact details, and the group order form for studios asks for sizes only.

If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.

What rights do I have?

Under the GDPR you may ask us for: access to the data we hold about you; rectification of anything inaccurate; erasure, where we have no overriding legal reason to keep it; restriction of processing; portability of the data you gave us, in a machine readable format; and objection to processing based on our legitimate interests.

Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting anything done before you withdrew it.

Write to support@danceworldshoes.shop. We answer within one month and we do not charge for it. We may ask you to confirm your identity where a request concerns an order we cannot otherwise link to you.

What if I am not satisfied with your answer?

You may lodge a complaint with the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), at cnpd.pt. If you live in another EU member state you may complain to your own national supervisory authority instead.

Doing so does not stop you from also raising the matter with us, or from going to court.

Is my data safe?

The site is served over HTTPS throughout. Access to order data is limited to the people who need it to fulfil orders and answer enquiries. Forms are rate-limited against automated abuse.

No payment card data is collected, transmitted or stored by this site at any point. If a personal data breach were to occur that is likely to result in a risk to your rights, we would notify the CNPD within 72 hours and tell you directly where the risk is high.
