Fourteen days to change your mind
Last updated 15 August 2026 · Governed by Portuguese law
How long do I have?
14 calendar days from the day you — or someone you nominated — take physical possession of the goods. If an order arrives in several parcels, the period runs from the last one.
To meet the deadline it is enough that you send your notice before the 14 days are up. You do not have to have returned the goods by then.
If we had failed to tell you about this right, the period would extend by 12 months. We are telling you about it here, on the product pages and at checkout.
How do I withdraw?
Any clear statement works. Email support@danceworldshoes.shop with your order reference and what you are sending back, or use the standard form below — it is optional, not compulsory.
We acknowledge every withdrawal notice in writing without delay, and we send you a return address and reference at the same time. Please do not post anything back before you have that reference.
Standard withdrawal form
Complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract.
To: DANCEWORLD INDUSTRIA DE CALÇADO LDA R Central de Campos 563, 4430-801 Avintes, Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal support@danceworldshoes.shop I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract of sale of the following goods: Order reference: ____________________ Product(s) and size(s): ____________________ Ordered on / received on: ____________________ Name of consumer: ____________________ Address of consumer: ____________________ Signature (only if this form is notified on paper): ____________________ Date: ____________________
Who pays for sending it back?
You do. The direct cost of returning the goods is yours unless the item was faulty or not what you ordered, in which case we cover it. We recommend a tracked service; until the parcel reaches us it is your risk.
When do I get my money back?
Within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal notice, using the same means of payment you used, without any fee. We may hold the refund until the goods are back with us or until you provide proof of dispatch, whichever comes first.
The refund includes the standard delivery cost you paid on the way out. If you chose an express service, we refund the standard rate rather than the premium.
What condition do the shoes need to be in?
You may handle them as you would in a shop: try them on indoors, on a clean surface, to check the fit. That is the whole extent of it.
You are liable for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond that — dancing in them, wearing them outdoors, or marking the upper. In practice that means we may deduct from the refund, or decline it, where the shoes cannot be sold to anyone else.
Why can suede-soled shoes not come back once used?
Suede-soled shoes can't be returned once they have been used on a floor. Try them indoors on a clean surface only.
The reason is physical rather than commercial. A suede sole takes its wear immediately: the nap flattens and picks up dust from the first few turns, and it is visible on inspection. Once that has happened the shoe is not new and cannot honestly be sold as new to the next person.
This is why the condition appears in three places before you pay — on the product page, on every line of your bag, and as a separate required checkbox at checkout. It is not buried.
Trying them on indoors on a clean floor does not trigger this. A single class does.
I sewed the elastics on. Can I still send them back?
Shoes with elastics or ribbons already sewn on count as altered and cannot be returned.
Sewing elastics or ribbons is an alteration made to your own specification, and goods made or altered to a consumer's specification are outside the withdrawal right by law. Check the fit first, sew afterwards.
The measuring and fit page explains how to check the fit before you reach for a needle.
Are there other exclusions?
Hygiene items supplied sealed cannot be returned once the seal is broken. In our range that applies to the toe pads, which are worn directly against the skin.
Nothing else in the range is excluded. Care items, bags, brushes and unworn shoes all come back under the ordinary 14-day rule.
This is separate from the guarantee, right?
Yes. Withdrawal is a no-reason right that lasts 14 days. The legal guarantee is a fault-based right that lasts three years and is not affected by any of the conditions on this page. A suede sole that has been danced on cannot be returned under withdrawal — but if it comes unglued, that is a defect and the guarantee applies regardless.
